It’s: www.radiowaves.co.uk/riversdale Many of you have been having a great time already, and have posted blogs, stories and updated your profiles. We will be talking about this in class tomorrow – a lot of things have come up to talk about. (Remember, we are all learning together how to do this – I have not done it before either!)
But – just until then….
Create an avatar – excellent tutorial with two free websites mentioned where you can create your own avatar image. http://iprimary.co.uk/tutorial.php?tutorialID=015
1) Some of you have been posting links that are ‘dead’ or ‘broken’, or even slightly lost! Meaning, when you have posted a link to your Flixtime videos, they have just linked to the Flixtime log in page. No video. Also, you can always check the link before you post it on your blog!
2) All ‘stories’ have to have titles, and certainly be more than two words long. (You know who you are!). Descriptive, catchy titles are good! Think like a reporter – this is a headline for your ‘story’. I have been talking to Amy about this, and we will be discussing it as a class, i.e the success criteria for a good story, blog, profile etc etc. For Radiowaves, what they call a ‘story’ can be a report, an interview, a diary, a review, or even – a story!
3) Check out the other features of Radiowaves. Search through other stations/reporters/blogs/HQ. You will notice on our station that the stories have numbers next to them – this tells you how many people have read your story! Read some of the stories on the HQ pages – they have interesting stuff there.
Check this out: http://www.radiowaves.co.uk/story/106367/title/ReporteroftheMonthforFebruary2010%E2%80%93CupCakesIceTea tells you about the reporter of the month. (Would be great if one of you could get this one day!)
And: http://www.radiowaves.co.uk/story/106352/title/StationoftheMonthforFebruary2009RockFM their station of the month.
This is great! I see some of you doing stuff like this…. http://www.radiowaves.co.uk/story/105137/title/PrimeNumbersGreenGroupNumeracy
See you tomorrow! p.s. if you come across any stuff on Radiowaves you would like to share with the rest of us – leave a comment. Also, leave a comment and let me know what you think about the whole thing…..
